Time Requirements:

• As scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings between mid-November and early February

Essential Duties:

• Attends referee clinic

• Learns the rules of basketball and Moab City Recreation league rules

• Arrives 10 minutes prior to scheduled game time, dressed and ready to start game

• Starts all games on time

• Comes prepared to referee:
  • Wears running/athletic sneakers or cleats
  • Wears black shorts or athletic pants
  • Wears referee shirt (provided by Moab City)

• Establishes contact with coaches and players

• Is consistent, fair and firm in calls made

• Records all scores accurately and reports results to Sports & Recreation Manager at end of the day

• Uses referee call as teaching opportunity if appropriate

Reporting Relationships

• Supervision received: The Referee works under the supervision of the Sports & Recreation Manager.

• Supervision Exercised: The Jr. Jazz Basketball Referee provides general supervision and support for the basketball participants.
